February 2006 Manaia Director nominated for New Zealander of the Year.

Kateia Burrows, one of the founding members of Manaia was this year nominated by the New Zealand Society as a finalist for New Zealander the Year. Kateia, originally from Dunedin and of Aitutaki and Ngati Porou descent has now spent 6 years in the UK and as well as being a director of Manaia, also runs Maori language courses in London as well as looking after her 3 children.
